SoundWalk Map
The Ridgewood-Glendale SoundWalk is a participatory musical exploration of Queens neighborhoods. Participants embark on a guided walk—meandering through local businesses, pathways, and green spaces—with stops along the way for musical performances and interactive journaling exercises. I designed limited edition map prints and journals available to attendees to accompany the program.

The map design and location illustration were inspired by vintage maps, but executed in a modern way.
At the start of the project, I went on a field trip to the Argosy Book Store with the SoundWalk’s creator, Concetta Abbate. Seeing their collection of old maps was incredibly inspiring, and I reinterpreted many details from those maps into this project!
Illustrations
Each illustration depicts a location where attendees stop for a musical performance and an interactive journaling exercise.
